Unlike most tours, Tina selects a luxury period house to be your home for the week, so no more packing and unpacking and moving suitcases from location to location. All your creature comforts are catered for within a cosy place to stay, so you feel like you can 'live like a local' in a relaxed, hassle free, calming space.
With Tina as your British born guide, you go to some of her favorite places; many off the beaten track. You get to access experiences not available to the solo traveller, whilst avoiding the crowds of larger groups.
You have the opportunity to explore the best of what Britain has to offer from the beautiful countryside, majestic Stately Homes & Castles, to outstanding gastro pubs and delightful afternoon teas. Indulge in great farm to fork food and learn about British cuisine, history & culture as you immerse yourself in a truly unique experience you'll never find in the guide books.
Past tour participants have ranged in age from 17 to 70's. There is something for both men and women, young and not so young, to enjoy. Ideal for couples, sisters, Mum & daughters, friends and adult family groups. All rooms can be set-up as doubles or 2 singles and all prices are based on 2 people sharing.
There is a lot of walking to do and with stairs rather than elevators, you'll need to be independently mobile if you want to take full advantage of all the experiences offered. It's a great way to bond and reconnect with a love one. We've had couples celebrating wedding anniversaries and people celebrating birthdays. You make new friends with people how have similar interests, while being enveloped in local customs and British life. Tina not only takes you out of the guidebooks and into a world you're waiting to discover, but to places you would never even find by traveling independently on your own or with larger tour group companies.

By having all the details taken care of, you can just sit back, relax and soak in each day and every experience, as you become a little more British every day.
"The trip had a great mix of activities from the farm house, the tea rooms, all the history, the countryside bus rides, the various villages, the shopping, the food outings, the great travel guides (you and Graham) – it was a very special week." Don 2018

Our tour is based in the historic market town of Kelso, in the heart of the Scottish Borders, just over an hour south from Edinburgh, in the stunning surrounding countryside. Guests will stay at a beautiful Georgian Estate house, located conveniently just up the lane from the agricultural center of the market square.
Our time in the Scottish Borders will include visits to majestic castles including, Duns Castle, owned by the Laird, Alexander Hay of Duns and Drumelziertime with a private tour by the Laird himself, followed by lunch at the castle. A visit to Floors Castle dating from 1721, with roof turrets and lavishly furnished, art and tapestry-hung interiors and a VIP visit to Abbotsford House: the extraordinary home of the 19th century novelist Sir Walter Scott the ‘Great Scott’ who popularised tartan, saved the Scottish banknote and rediscovered his country’s Crown Jewels.
Along the way, you’ll enjoy a tour and tasting at a local whiskey and gin distillery. We will explore why the Scottish Borders is called the cashmere capital of the world, at Lochcarron textile mill, and take you on a tour of the processes of creating tartan fabrics and accessories, which are sold throughout the world as well as in the factory shop where you'll have time to shop for your kilt or favorite tartan.
Our time in Scotland, wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the capital city of Edinburgh, and Tina wanted this visit to be the most memorable one, so she created this day as a Royal one. We tour of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, The Queen's official residence in Edinburgh and the home of Scottish royal history. We’ll experience afternoon tea, followed by a private VIP tour onboard The Royal Yacht Britannia, the former yacht of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
With Tina as your host and guide we’ll go off the beaten path, and find something unique and that will create lifelong memories. We strive to make all adventures as local, enjoyable for all ages, and add our own personal touches to every trip.
