Group Bookings For Lunch, Showers or Parties

Groups of 9 or more choose from the following group options:

Option 1. $25 Lady's Lunch:

  • A selection of seasonal finger sandwiches & an option of one side (soup of the day, salad or fruit)

  • Scone of the day served with clotted cream and handmade jam

  • Shared large pots of tea (iced tea option is available in the summer)

Option 2. $29 Lord & Lady High Tea Includes:

  • Triple-Decker Cucumber, Dill and Cream Cheese tea sandwiches

  • Scone with clotted cream and handmade jams

  • Selection of handmade British themed seasonal pastries

  • Shared large pots of tea

Option 2. $38 Her Majesty's Afternoon Tea Includes:

  • A selection of seasonal finger sandwiches

  • Scone with clotted cream and handmade jam and jelly

  • Selection of handmade British themed seasonal pastries

  • Shared large pots of tea

Option 3. $46 Champagne High Tea

  • A selection of seasonal finger sandwiches

  • Scone with clotted cream and handmade jam and jelly

  • Selection of handmade British themed seasonal pastries

  • Shared large pots of tea

  • A glass of champagne to help you celebrate your special day

And for younger guests:

$17 Princess & Prince Tea (12 and under)

  • A selection of seasonal finger sandwiches (choose from peanut butter & strawberry jelly, OR honey)

  • Fruit cup

  • Selection of handmade British themed seasonal pastries

  • Hot chocolate

Booking a party is easy.

Party groups of up to 7 can be booked as a regular tearoom reservation

Seating Times 

We have set party seating times: 11 am & 1:30 pm in Carmel and 1 pm in Columbus. You will have the space for 2 hours. Afternoon slots tend to be requested first and are usually booked 3-4 weeks if not further in advance. Please feel free to contact us to check your preferred date is available.

Party space tends to be scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday, but we can also accommodate your group in the week as well. Evening or early morning times are also possible by request, room hire fees will apply.

Seating Spaces

Carmel:

The tearoom in Carmel is a converted historical Colonial home dating back to the 1880's. The property was fully refurbished in 2007 and remodeled in 2014 to create the tearoom, with teapot chandeliers and wooden fireplace surround. Rooms have been opened up to form one large open plan area. We do not have closed off private rooms for hire. You will be sharing the tearoom with other guests, but defined areas are set aside for our group parties (of a max of 24 people) to give some separation.​​

Available for events by request and must be booked prior to other reservations being taken. There is seating for up to 55 inside and a further 20 outside in good weather.  

Columbus:

Tina selected the location in Columbus as it reminded her of her mom's cottage back in England. This former brick built home is set in a lovely garden, with parking at the side and at weekends in the neighboring parking lots. The tearoom in Columbus has one main tearoom area with room for up to 24. There is one small private room available for up to 8 guests.

Things to note:

As we only have a small domestic style kitchen and a small team, we can’t accommodate groups of 9 or more ordering from the standard tearoom menu. We find that it takes too long, impacts on our level of service & creates a poor experience for our guests and we trust you understand. If you make a reservation for less than 9 people or more arrive on the day of your reservation, or if a party of 9 or more arrives with no reservation, your group will be offered the group menu.

Prices quoted exclude relevant taxes and 20% group gratuity (this will automatically be added upon payment) and is policy as of April 2019. If a price change occurs between booking and the date of your event, the price at the time of the event will be the price you pay. As bookings can be taken months in advance, you may want to check price details of any future bookings booked more than 30 days in advance when you confirm the final numbers for your booking a couple weeks prior.

We book at your ‘high number’, usually capped at the number of people you invite or expect to attend. We request that you call the Monday prior to your event to confirm numbers, check pricing, and tell us of any dietary restrictions your guests may have. If we have not managed to reach you by phone we will email. If no confirmation is provided within 72 hours of your reservation, we reserve the right to reassign your table and your deposit will be non-refundable.

We can accommodate Gluten Free and Vegetarian diets if we know in advance. If we don’t know until the day, we will always work with your guest to do our best to accommodate their needs, however the food offered may be limited.

Minimums and Room Fees

For groups of 9 or more, a $75 room fee is required on booking to reserve the date and time

If you cancel within 72 hours of your booking, the room fee is non-refundable.

For groups of 30 or more, the above menus will be served buffet style. If your number drops below the minimum number of 30 then you pay for 30.

We charge no room fee if your event is within normal opening hours.

After hours events are available, and the following minimums apply:

We require a minimum of 15 in your party to book an after hours event. Menus of $29 per person or above. Dinner options are also available- please inquire for more information.

Room fee of $150 for 2 hours applies and is taken on booking and acts as a non-refundable deposit. This doesn’t get deducted from your final bill because it’s your room fee. If you cancel within 72 hours of your event your deposit is nonrefundable, and $5/head will be charged  for each person on the original reservation.(This is because by that point food ingredients have already been procured for your party).

Beer & Wine

Fancy Champagne, Mimosas or a glass of Wine to celebrate your special occasion? Tina’s Traditional is now licensed to serve beer and wine in Carmel & Columbus.   Make sure you state this requirement when you book.

Celebration Cakes & Party Favors

You can also request party favors or a celebration cake iced to your specification, baked by our craft bakers on site. Celebration cakes start at $50. Favors start at $1.50/favor.

Can the whole tearoom be hired out for wedding?

Yes it can. We have a special wedding package for you.

What we cannot allow

As this venue is a restaurant and bakery, you may NOT bring in your own food, cakes or edible favors.

Please no confetti, glitter or paints on the tables as it takes forever to clean up and gets everywhere.
