Tour Overview: The Scottish Borders Tour May 2020

Come on tour with Tina for 7 days and live like a local in the beautiful countryside of Scotland.  We’ll take you to visit selected hidden gems as you access privately created VIP tours of iconic Castles, Stately Homes and locations, you could only dream about. Experience all that makes Scotland such an epic place to explore!

Tour Dates: May 23rd - 30th, 2020

This tour is based in the historic market town of Kelso, in the heart of the Scottish Borders, just over an hour south from Edinburgh, in the stunning surrounding countryside. Guests will stay at a beautiful Georgian Estate house, located conveniently just up the lane from the agricultural center of the market square.

Our time in the Scottish Borders will include visits to majestic castles including, Duns Castle, owned by the Laird, Alexander Hay of Duns and Drumelziertime with a private tour by the Laird himself, followed by lunch at the castle. A visit to Floors Castle dating from 1721, with roof turrets and lavishly furnished, art and tapestry-hung interiors and a VIP visit to Abbotsford House: the extraordinary home of the 19th century novelist Sir Walter Scott the ‘Great Scott’ who popularized tartan, saved the Scottish banknote and rediscovered his country’s Crown Jewels.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy a tour and tasting at a local whiskey and gin distillery. We will explore why the Scottish Borders is called the cashmere capital of the world, at Lochcarron textile mill, and take you on a tour of the processes of creating tartan fabrics and accessories, which are sold throughout the world as well as in the factory shop where you'll have time to shop for your kilt or favorite tartan.

Our time in Scotland, wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the capital city of Edinburgh, and Tina wanted this visit to be the most memorable one, so she created this day as a Royal one.  We tour of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, The Queen's official residence in Edinburgh and the home of Scottish royal history. We’ll experience afternoon tea, followed by a private VIP tour on board The Royal Yacht Britannia, the former yacht of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

With Tina as your host and guide we’ll go off the beaten path, and find something unique and that will create lifelong memories. We strive to make all adventures as local, enjoyable for all ages, and add our own personal touches to every trip.

We hope that you will join us this May 2020 for a once in a lifetime journey, where we will live like a local as we explore beautiful Scotland.
